He could try all the big office supply stores, Office Max, Office Depot, etc, etc. They all deal in both high and low end office furnishings. The yellow pages of any local phone book would probably yield a bunch of places he could choose from or visit them all and then make a decision.

I REALLY really want new bedroom furniture. What I have isn’t cutting it (I mean come on a teenager with flowerery furniture) I want a Full sized bed, our little puppy sleeps on my bed and she isnt to happy about the lack of room either. A tall upright dresser, mine is horizontal and it is just to tempting to dump junk on it, i want a new night stand too. I mean it doesn’t have to be expensive but I not going to live with this furniture. Pure Hoodia Gordonii . We are painting my trim white and my furniture is like a really light FAKE wood with the child like flowers. All I want is white FURNITURE is that to much to ask. So how can I talk my parents into new bedroom (white) furniture and get rid of this 3 year old’s junk?????????????? Help school starts again soon and I want my room done before then.
Another thing my Mom says that painting over those flowers is not going to happen. But I don’t see the problem and the thrift store is a really good idea.
I know I sound very greedy but just so you know I have never picked out my own bed in my life! And I have only had three the first one broke so they had to buy me a new one it was one of those loft beds, then we moved and my mom came here by plane and bought the flower set I have now. They probably already know. Maybe they are saving up for a nice set…or they are trying to surprise you. Internet Marketing . If they are doing stuff to your room, it is probably in the works! Try not to say anything about furniture so when it happens, they will feel like they gotcha!

Just for bedroom furniture it doesnt make a big difference. If you want it to look welcoming I’d choose cherry. Its my favorite. cosmetic dentist encino ca . since it is white and distressed any color will go–usually people decorate with pale or pastels–but be different–deeper greens, blues, golds, purple plus lighter colors. On better homes and gardens website they have a section that you can decorate (room makeovers) they have pre-selected rooms, but you can choose the colors of walls, trims etc and i think even curtains on some. Dedicated Server . It could give you ideas at least.

If the furniture is solid wood, stained and varnished, you can strip the varnish off with paint stripper. Follow the directions on the can.

If the pieces are stained, the stain will remain. It is soaked into the wood. You can now apply a new coat of varnish, water base poly or tung oil (easiest).

If you do not like the stain color, you can paint the furniture. All poly or varnish should be removed. Prime first with a good quality primer. Internet Promotion . Get it tinted to 1/4 the color of the paint you plan on using if the paint is a dark color. Otherwise use the primer as is.

Then apply a couple of coats of the finish color.
Satin latex for low sheen.
semi-gloss latex for more sheen.

My opinion on old furniture. It if good quality, solid wood, I wood remove the varnish down to the stained wood. Local Business . then rub on a couple coats of tung oil. Preserves the wood great, shows all the grain, easy to use, no mistakes.

If the furniture has some veneer on it, thin pieces of good wood, you will have to be careful with the refinishing as you could easily cause these thin pieces to lift or if sanded, sand too heavily and sand right thru them.

To paint, you really should remove the doors, hinges, etc to get a smoother job and buy a good quality brush too.
It really makes a difference in the finish looking good or cheap.
A 2″ brush should coats $ 8-10. Home D or Lowes.

Sounds like you may have a high humidity level in your home which can cause cracking in any wood…Moisture gets in and causes the cracking..Get a dehumidifier and place it in the bedroom..That may fix the problem..Also use some lemon oil on your furniture to protect it or look for some polish called Guardsman..It also is very good in conditioning the wood..I hope this helps..
